I recently found this set of negatives. This is what you get for turning up for work the Brighton area managers office with a camera. The deicer I think had derailed in platform 2 overnight it had quickly been rerailed but the platform was out of use until track repairs had taken place. Photo taken around 1991.

As part of the Brighton line resignalling Brighton station concourse was extended over the former platform roads. To compensate the platforms were lengthened at the London end. Here work can be seen extending platform 8 over the former parcels bays. Date taken 1985?
