S70893 of 4Vep 7724 is slightly the worse for wear. It was involved in a collision at Copyhold Junction on 6/11/85 whilst working the 0125 Brighton to Victoria. 7390 working the 0100 Victoria to Brighton slid from Balcombe and collided with 7724 waiting on signals at Copyhold Jct. This coach was scrapped in Brighton Top yard on the 14th and 15th October 1986. Thanks to that fountain of knowledge John Atkinson for the details. | The Derek Burton Collection | (1) |
